Why is there always some white anglo dude playing the role of hero throughout time in the Asian culture? There always seems to be a Samurai Warrior Legend who is clearly caucasian. How does that happen? It’s way more lame than the asian women like white guys whine, not that there is anything wrong with that, I don’t care who likes who, so I’ll get back to the movie thing.
Enter the Ninja, Karate Kid, Last Samurai to name a few, Heck even Richard Gere became a sorta hero in Tibet and it wasn’t in a movie role! He is now banned from China.
Anyway, we put white heroes in Asian centric films so we (caucasians) have something to aspire to. Someday, I’m gonna be a fighting master with incredible courage and rescue some Asian people. I guess it’s only fair though, Jackie Chan keeps cleaning up messes in the USA.
Maybe there is something to this outsider hero business. Usually someone on the outside has a clearer view of what’s going on, maybe we all need an outsider to join our cause, to be our hero. OK, I’m over it. I have no issues with this move issue any longer. And I’m going to keep an eye out for my hero of another ethnicity.

Seriously? Santa Claus? Oh, but the worst part is the Elves. Just forget about flying reindeer, magic sled, invisible home…
I don’t know why I’m so annoyed by the Santa thing, I guess it seems condescending, to generate an energy and excitement about something that we all know is bull crap. And most kids can tell it’s not true, they just play along because they think they should.
What’s so great about a sled, deer, and elves? How about modernizing? If Santa was real he would be like Google, constantly updating and upgrading, a huge staff to meet the ever grwing demand, and smart financial managers to keep the shareholders happy.
The same parents who tell their kids about Santa most likely tell their kids there is no such thing as magic and Harry Potter is evil. If I was going to believe in something, it would be dragons. How cool would that be. Dragons delivering presents on Christmas.

I am Legend was the creepiest movie I have ever seen. I am building my wall and plexi room tomorrow.
Will Smith was so smart. I don’t think I could have reached that level of sophistication in post humanity age. It almost made his cracking up seem out of place. What was up with his fascination with the dummy at the library? And how in the world did the flesh munchers come up with that idea?
And the butterfly thing. Actually I misssed it. If it hadn’t been pointed out to me I would never have mentioned it. The butterfly thing. Maybe it was a marketing gimmick to reach young girls and new age junkies at the same time. Again it seemed out of place in a movie about flesh munchers, a barely sane military doctor, and his dog.
Whatever. It was still a cool movie. I don’t have to pick it apart. But i know I’m getting older, because the phrase “they don’t make them like they used to” is begging to be uttered. Whatever.
